Confidentiality Statement

During our appointments, you may share sensitive information. This will be within a safe, confidential space. Your information will not be shared with anyone unless:

You or any children are at risk of serious harm

You are a risk to yourself or others

You disclose serious illegal activity

Should any breach in confidentiality be necessary, I will attempt to inform you first. If this is not possible, only relevant information will be shared.

Confidentiality must be maintained at all times. In the unlikely event you see someone you know accessing the services, this must not discussed with anyone else. Everyone has the right to confidentiality.

 

Data Protection Statement

Your personal information will be stored, both hard copy and electronically, in accordance with GDPR. All hard copies will be stored in a locked filing cabinet with access only granted to employees. All electronic copies are password protected with multi-factor authentication. All electronic data will be deleted six months after the end of treatment. Hard copies will be kept for two years for the purpose of maintaining financial records. Susie Clark will be personally responsible for the secure destruction of personal data within 90 days of the end of the retention period. Personal data given will not be used for any other purpose than the reason it is given. Anonymised data may be used for the purpose of research.

 

Code of Ethics

1. Client Welfare: At Raven Therapy Scotland, the wellbeing of the client is paramount. I promote safety, autonomy, and growth.

2. Confidentiality: I maintain strict confidentiality unless there is a high risk of serious harm or is required by law. Further information can be found in my confidentiality statement.

3. Honesty & Integrity: I ensure I keep my promises, such as agreed appointment times, clearly communicate the scope of therapy, and act professionally and truthfully throughout your contact with Raven Therapy Scotland.

4. Respect and Dignity: I treat every client with respect, irrespective of their background, race, age, sex, culture, or circumstance.

5. Informed Consent: I ensure clients have full and up-to-date information for complete understanding of the therapy provided, any risks, and their rights. I obtain consent prior to any treatment taking place.

6. Boundaries and Professionalism: I always maintain firm boundaries ensuring the relationship remains professional at all times.

7. Fairness and Equality: I ensure all clients have equal access to treatment and without discrimination.

8. Competence and Continued Learning: I practice within my knowledge and skill set and partake in continued professional development, as guided by professional organisations I am a member of.
